Partnering with plogg

From the outset, Energy Optimizers has developed its wireless smart metering concept not just as a standalone product, but as an enabling technology for a broad range of energy management systems and services. We are continually seeking new ways to use our Plogg technology for the benefit of individuals and the community, and attach great importance to building partnerships with equipment manufacturers and system integrators that share our vision.

Because Plogg uses industry standard hardware, PC/mobile platforms and data formats, it is well suited to integration within existing and new home automation and building management systems, and even within individual electrical and electronic devices. We can offer embedded Plogg units for OEM applications and router support for third-party Zigbee mesh networks.

The Plogg approach to appliance monitoring encompasses:

• automated sub-metering, including setting up individual unit profiles, timers and tariffs
• energy audits for the home, commerce and industry
• comparative performance appraisal for appliances
• asset monitoring, maintenance and end-of-life assessment
• remote appliance switching using linked sensors or predetermined parameters
• monitoring of energy fed back to the distribution network from, for example, local microgeneration or CHP (combined heat and power) systems.

We are happy to make the Plogg application programming interface (API) available to third-party system integrators and software developers. We can also offer technical support and, in certain circumstances, can quote for custom development.
